Race to the finish

As if shooting a family of 11 wasn’t challenging enough, I was in a race against the clock with the weather…… and the weather was winning! Pretty blue sky behind this AWESOME family… ugly, dark black clouds behind me. I have never had to shoot so fast in my life. If it wasn’t for their wonderful sense of humor and upbeat spirits it would have been a total mess.
The ~sweet~ amongst the ~sour~
Its always something…..I find myself saying this more and more. That’s the way life goes I suppose. Politics, the economy and now my latest soap box….insurance companies. Why am I ranting? Well, we are on vacation and although we did not plan anything extravagant we were all looking forward to some down time together. But, as life goes, we found ourselves in the urgent care with Jim on Saturday. His knee has finally given out on him and we have been playing the waiting game with our insurance company. In the mean time…..my darling husband is going stir crazy MAD! Stuck in a brace, in severe pain and flat on the couch (under my strict orders!)….he finally had enough. So, off we went for a ride around town and in search of some good light. So, although surgery may lay ahead along with more waiting, we have so much to be grateful for. There is much joy, wonder in her eyes and her smile….I am envious of this bliss, of the innocence. For her there are no soap boxes. But, I must say…I am back in “domestic goddess” bliss. I really have missed it.
